Artisan flooring is a hardware flooring company based in Scotland, that required their new website to display all of their hardwood flooring products, allow searching and sorting 'on the fly', fully automate and manage instant online quotations and provide full e-commerce functionality for their customers.
Overview
The website was built to specification and featured custom searching and sorting products by price, by type, by color and by wood species. Custom coding allowed visitors to enter a project budget which would limit the display of suitable products to those either below, or matching their specific price limit.
The project was a large, database driven complex e-commerce solution designed specifically to help make the process of finding a new hardwood floor as easy as possible for all prospective new customers.

Software Specification
The website was designed to handle up to a minimum of 1000 products ensuring search results displayed products in a way that consumers could easily select and find what they were looking for. To facilitate this, multiple methods of searching and sorting products were coded. This includes searching by color style species and product brand.
In addition the customer has the ability to enter the room size requirements in square meters, which has the effect of displaying every product correctly quoted for that room size in every search result.Furthermore, customers could use a fully graphic driven interface to best find the products that would suit their requirements.
In order to help maximize user lead generation, customers aregiven the option to request "best price" instead of the typical "buy it now" choice. Gathering the customer information, the best price quote is passed to customize back office admin suite, to allow state administrators to generate a best price quote and send it directly to the customer.
One of the many key features was to instantly display quotes for every product based on the room size for the customer's floor so they could immediately see the cost of new flooring in all search results without having to go to an individual product for more information.
